Craig Karges, author of Ignite Your Intuition, publisher Health Communications, 1999, ISBN: 1558746765, shares techniques on how to tap into intuition.

What people are capable of and what they accomplish are often two different things.

Once in tune with hunches or instincts and higher possibilities, more can be accomplished and things tend to flow more smoothly.

The Brain and Memory

The first chapter in Karges, Ignite Your Intuition, begins with basics about the brain. There are ideas on how to balance both hemispheres out evenly by exercising the side you don’t use as much.

Artists and musicians tend to rely on the left side more and can tune in to it but don’t necessarily know where it comes from or even have a name for it.

There are simple exercises to help improve and train the memory. Some of the methods used include association and repetition. Enhancing your memory helps recall and notice those flashes of intuition when you get them.

Intuitive Edge

If everyone paid attention and acted more on their hunches they would probably save themselves a lot of trouble. People frequently say they had a feeling about something before it happens and wish they had acted on their instincts.

There is an intuition self-assessment test included in Ignite Your Intuition that will give the reader an idea of how much they rely on their intuition without realizing it.

Acknowledging intuition is a start but there are also ways to activate it further. Writing down goals and questioning why someone would want them helps clarify goals.

Mind Body Connection

Visualization and meditation are some of the methods explored in this chapter that help to connect with intuition. There are six scripts that walk the reader through breathing and relaxation centering techniques. When relaxed and peaceful, it’s easier to let go and flow with imagination and more possibilities.

Intuitive Pendulum

An intuitive pendulum is discussed and there are instructions on how to use one. There are also ideas on what sort of questions to ask it to test its accuracy. A side-to-side motion means no while up and straight down mean no.

Affirmations

Positive statements that you can write down and/or repeat out loud in order to achieve your goals are affirmations. The more specific the goals and affirmations, the better the chance of reaching them.

Dreams

Using a dream diary, memories of dreams can be recorded and analyzed since solutions to problems often come through the unconscious mind.

Psi Factor

This is your sixth sense and can include clairvoyance, scrying, automatic writing and telepathy. Clairvoyance is when you pick up impressions from objects and telepathy is mind reading.

Some people are stronger in one than the other but there are exercises included to practice them all. Some skepticism is natural but it works for Craig and Ignite Your Intuition is a good base to help spark more of your intuitiveness.
